UTAR Will Organise the Virtual “INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF SINOPHONE MALAYSIAN LITERARY STUDIES” on August 1.Open Free to the Public
(Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS) and Centre for Chinese Studies (CChS), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), will organize the “International Conference of Sinophone Malaysia Literary Studies” on August 1, 2021. This virtual conference is held through the Zoom platform. Seventeen renowned scholars from different nationalities will present their conference papers on Sinophone Malaysia literary studies.
The theme of the conference is “The Multinational Production of Sinophone Malaysia Literature.” The six sub-topics to be discussed are the nature and characteristics of Sinophone Malaysia Literature, Comparative perspectives on Sinophone Malaysia Literature with global and local literature, The multinational production of Sinophone Malaysia Literature, the rethinking and retrospection on the historical and socio-political contexts, the forms and styles of Sinophone Malaysia Literature, and the prominent authors and works.
The prominent presenters are Dr. Alison Groppe, Prof. Dr. Andrea Bachner, Dr. Brian Bernards, Prof. Dr. Carlos Rojas, Dr. EK Tan (USA); Prof. Dr. Wang Yanfang, Dr. Ch’ng Ee Cheik (China); Dr. Kao Chia-li, Dr. Kien Ket Lim (Taiwan); Dr. Nicholas Y.H. Wong (Hong Kong); Prof. Dr.Wong Yoon Wah (Singapore); Dr. Khor Boon Eng, Dr. Seng Yan Chuan, Dr. Wong Lih Lih, Dr. Sim Kok Meng, Dr. Chou Wen Loong, Dr. Lee Soo Chee (Malaysia).
